Telurio™ Record is a software module that controls and implements the storage management and service logic of Imagine Communications’ CloudXtream™ Cloud DVR (cDVR) solution. Its primary function is to manage the recording requests and changes from end users, as well as manage interfaces with program information and recording engines. Telurio™ Record handles a wide range of recording modes. Recordings can be event-based with fixed start and end times or continuous stream-to-file capture, which allows editing of start and end times throughout the recording process, post-capture modification and efficient use of storage. Telurio™ Record also supports shared or private copy to ensure compliance with content rights and applicable laws.
Two key components of Telurio™ Record are Recording Manager and Recorder. The Recording Manager is a GUI-based application that provides a RESTful set of APIs in order for middleware to schedule and playback recordings. Its primary function is to manage the recording requests and changes from end users, as well as manage interfaces with program information and recording engines. It also provides a central point to manage the nodes in the system.
The Recorder continuously records MBR IDR aligned streams in an HLSv4 mezzanine format into storage for subsequent delivery to a Telurio™ Packager JITP for delivery to clients. Alternately, Recorder can be used to create single event assets. Each recorder can record up to 500 ABR streams. Telurio Record seamlessly integrates with Telurio™ Packager JITP to serve up ABR-ready fragments to clients from either event-based or continuous recordings. As part of the CloudXtream™ solution, the Telurio™ Record enables subscribers to use a wide variety of multiscreen devices to manage their recording activities and preferences, while allowing video service providers to introduce an array of new, revenue-generating cloud DVR services.
